·         This event is full

 

Festival Overview

·         Leeds Summer Ball is run by Leeds University as a graduation ball. It is mainly dance music and has a capacity of approximately 15,000.

·         It is at Lotherton Hall just outside Leeds.

·         We will be providing welfare & lost property.

·         We will have 1 post in the main arena.

·         This event will be run by Sarah & Chris Crockford, no other managers are required.

·         This event is expected to be very busy, for the last few years we have dealt with a large volume of drunk people, some drug issues and a small amount of drink related violence.

·         Post opens at 6pm on 3rd June 2011 and closes at 6am on 4th June 2011.

·         Sarah Crockford will be on site from approximately 2pm.

·         We have a budget for 8 paid crew

 

 

Travel & Getting In

·         If travelling by car the postcode is LS25 3EB, M1 junction 47 follow the signs for Lotherton Hall. Everyone comes in through the main entrance and you will be directed to the car park.

·         Buses do go from Parkinson steps in Leeds but you generally need a ticket, you may be able to blag on a bus, I will send out confirmation emails if anyone needs this. You may be better getting a lift off other crew.

·         When you arrive ring Sarah on 07751145805 or get them to radio the welfare tent. Your pass will be brought to you.

·         A few people are going with cars, can you arrange this through facebook.

·         There is £5 travel expenses allowance

 

 

Camping & Food

·         We will not be camping on site

·         There is a £5 meal allowance

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Shifts & Payment

·         Please ensure you have read the shift allocation procedures on the MOW website

·         Shifts will be posted on the MOW website before the event and emailed out through the mailing list

·         You must be able to do all the shifts you have been allocated

·         The rate of pay will be £5.93 per hour

·         The contract will be in the Management Box, please sign this.

·         The invoice folder will be in the Management box, please fill in one for the year and add your hours for Summer Ball.

·         You will be paid when we receive payment from the event organisers, hopefully within 30 days of the event.

·         We are not issuing cheques any more, all payment will be by bank transfer, if you did not supply your bank details last year or these have changed, please email Sarah or supply them at the event. 

·         Last minute drop outs are really difficult to manage and put a lot of extra strain on the team, if you are not able to attend, please email Sarah ASAP.

·         The final date for cancellation is 20th May 2011 If you drop out after this date you may not get your deposit back, for existing crew who don’t pay a deposit you may be asked to put a deposit down at future events.

 

 

Training

·         We will do induction and standard training / annual update at the event.

·         We will do the event brief at the event

·         Training and inductions will only be possible in the early part of the event, if you intend to come later then you will do the training at a later date

·         Unfortunately we cannot pay people to train

 

 

 

Event Specific Information

·         Please ensure you are familiar with all crash procedures, as this is the main bulk of the work.

·         We will run a small scale lost property, logging procedures will be much simpler
