Festival Overview · Download Festival is the largest metal festival in the UK with a capacity of 60,000 with 50,000 campers (A bit smaller than last year). · It’s held at Donnington Park which is near Derby and Loughborough. · We will be providing welfare & lost property. · We will have a welfare post & Lost Property Post in the campsite and a post in the arena (Same as 2010) · This event will be run by Sarah & Chris Crockford, Caroline Foster & Martin Hawksworth. Helen Kirby Hawkins will be Seeker & Lost Property Manager. Simon Boulding is management support. Linzie Edwards is Dirty Manager. · This event is expected to be very busy, it is mainly looking after drunk people, lost kids and crime support. · Service starts on Wednesday 8th June 2011 midday until Monday 13th June 2011 Midday. The arena post is open Friday 2pm-midnight, Saturday and Sunday 10am-midnight. · Sarah & Chris will be on site from approximately 7pm on Tuesday 7th June. · More details can be got by emailing Sarah Crockford, on the day please ring Sarah on 07751145805. We will be allocating someone to be in charge of getting people in; we will post this number up. · We have a budget for 36 Paid and 33 Volunteers.

Travel & Getting In · If travelling by car the postcode is DE74 2RP, M1 Junction 24, follow the signs for Donnington Park. You will need to park in staff parking. We are checking the exact entrances and this will be posted later. · If coming on public transport regular shuttle buses go from Derby from Wednesday until Monday. Check the Download website for exact times. Come in through the main entrance. · When you arrive please make your way to accreditation, everyone needs to go there individually. Once you have your wristband ring the seeker for directions or make your way to the main welfare post where we are camping. · Many people are going with cars, can you arrange this through facebook. · Sorry but there are no travel expenses available

Camping & Food · We will be camping behind the welfare post in the campsite. · The campsite is about half a mile from the car park and main entrance; bear this in mind when packing. · Everyone is responsible for trying to keep our campsite as clean and tidy as possible. Remember there are no glass bottles allowed on site. · Sorry we do not a budget for meals

Shifts & Payment · Please ensure you have read the shift allocation procedures on the MOW website · Shifts will be posted on the MOW website before the event · Paid crew will do three 8 hour shifts and volunteer crew will about 12 hours. You may be asked to do more if people drop out. · You must be able to do all the shifts you have been allocated · The rate of pay will be £5.93 per hour · Please fill in a Registration Form when you arrive on site, this will be in the main welfare post (Admin area). · You will be paid when we receive payment from the event organisers, hopefully within 30 days of the event. · We are not issuing cheques any more, all payment will be by bank transfer, if you did not supply your bank details last year or these have changed, please email Sarah or supply them at the event. · Last minute drop outs are really difficult to manage and put a lot of extra strain on the team, if you are not able to attend, please email Sarah ASAP. · The final date for cancellation is 25th May 2011 If you drop out after this date you may not get your deposit back, for existing crew who don’t pay a deposit you may be asked to put a deposit down at future events.

Training · We will do induction and standard training / annual update at the event. · We will do the event brief at the event · We will hold induction / training sessions each day and team leaders will do some training with individuals who do not make the sessions. · Unfortunately we cannot pay people to train

Event Specific Information · Lost property is excessively busy at this event, full training will be given for all people working in this area.
